Denture maintenance and care in Allenhurst

Allenhurst dentures

If you have a row of missing teeth that need to be replaced, you should visit our dental practice, Marc Berley, DMD. Our dentist, Dr. Marc Berley, will be able to provide you with Allenhurst dentures as well as give you full instructions for their proper maintenance and care.

If you ever experience any problems with your Allenhurst dentures, you should contact our office immediately. You should never try to bend any of the metal pieces by yourself, as this could cause the metal to greatly weaken down the road. Should you be suffering any type of gum irritation, contact our office and let them know that you need to come in to see our dentist regarding your dentures and gum discomfort. Dentures should be removed and rinsed after meals. If they cannot be cleaned after every meal, at least be sure to rinse and brush them once a day with a denture cleaner, liquid hand soap, or a mild dish soap. This needs to be done so that all plaque, food, and other materials can be removed from them. If you do use a denture adhesive, make sure that any leftover adhesive is cleaned off your gums. Dentures should be soaked in a solution overnight. Our dentist may have particular recommendations for you and your dentures regarding their cleaning. You should never clean your dentures with abrasive cleaning items, whitening toothpaste, products with bleach, or hot water. Dentures can warp if you clean them in hot water. Even if you use a denture cleaner solution, you will want to rinse them thoroughly before they are put back into your mouth. When not being worn, dentures should always be stored at room temperature water in a denture solution recommended by our dentist.
